"FANFARE" - A Video Documentary by Douglas Hedwig

"FANFARE" is a thirty-minute Telly Award Winning video documentary that presents a uniquely intimate portrait of the teaching, conducting and musical leadership of Dr. Douglas Hedwig. The video follows the engaging rehearsal process and musical preparations of the Brooklyn College Brass Ensemble, culminating in a series of concerts and masterclasses in and around London, England, during April 1998. We witness the growth and development of the individual performers and, under the direction of Professor Hedwig, see and hear them evolve into a cohesive and exciting musical ensemble. This educational video also includes exciting scenes of the group's residency at the Royal Academy of Music in London, as well as their tour of the Horniman Museum, one of the great brass instrument museums of the world. Douglas Hedwig is Executive Producer, Writer, and Music Director of "Fanfare," with Narration by National Public Radio Announcer, David Latulippe. Stuart McClelland, Chair of the TV & Radio Department at Brookyn College, was the Producer, Associate Writer, and Cinematographer.
